Spot suggestion for tomorrow
I just moved to the area and could use some local knowledge. For Tuesdays NW wind forecast, I am looking to Kitesurf in the Nanaimo area. I understand kiting at Pipers is not good. I have riden San Pareil, which is great but a bit far from my Mill Bay home. Are any of the Lantville access points decent to launch a kite? I looked at Myron road once but not enough space unless tide is really low. Also considering Blueback Beach. I am an expert kiter and don't mind a less than ideal launch area. Opinions are appreciated. If you are kiting tomorrow please let me know where.

Well, self proclaimed experts who’d rather not drive another 1/2 hr might be able to launch at neck point park.
A lighter and much closer alternative usually works better on SE tho is right beside the cow bay pub off the breakwater or, with permission from the marina or the First Nations off Cherry Point

Re: Spot suggestion for tomorrow
Thanks for the Neck Point suggestion. Cherry Point is a good access point but there has been a definite lack of wind in that area lately. Last time I was in Cow Bay I noticed a perfect kite launch spot just south of the pub. BUT it is Cowichan Tribe land and the fencing and signs did not look very friendly. I will look closer for the breakwater access spot.
