Nanaimo Nannoose wind
Nanaimo Nannoose wind
My name is Lorant. I used to kiteboard in squamish for quite a few years but now I live in Nanaimo and I wonder if I could get together with some guys or girls for beer and then go kiteboarding or vice versa. Who looks at what graph and when? It would be nice if a team of us could go out and kite surf in Nannoose let's say. We got to look out for each other's back.

You may find some companions at San Pariel or Rathtrevor beaches. Don’t think Nanoose has a decent launch for kiting. The wiki will tell you wind directions for each place, forecast & latest page is your link to the graphs, but I think you could find all that

Re: Nanaimo Nannoose wind
You can wing but not really safely kite at Pipers, maybe you could try that? Not many Kiters left, many switched. Drive to Nitinat or China Creek you’ll still have lots of company and maybe connect with some locals ….but then you could figure all that

Re: Nanaimo Nannoose wind
I used to kite at Nanoose bay. It is quite safe because you'd get blown into the bay if you encounter any issues. You can only kite there at high tide.
Nowadays on a E/SE wind I go to Rathtrevor: it is good at any tide. The wind is a bit stronger there too compared to Nanoose.
On a W/NW wind I go to Blueback beach, the stairs are a pain but the beach is sandy and wide.
