Re: Downwind foil with assist

Phil, I now live in the US (Oak Harbor). Would be nice to see you again one of these days!!! I have tried kiting in the Gorge in June, but it was sooo gusty/punchy that I didnt kite for my last 3 days and left with a sour taste of this area. (I guess we got lucky with the steady wind in Rufus July ...

Re: Nitinat road conditions 2025

As Kus said: If you do not have a reserved site, you wont be able to stay. (unless something is available).

Make sure to log on their website and see if anything is available. They might be all booked.

South Oregon Coast

Just so no one else does the same mistake: If you go South Oregon Coast early June, (in Floras Lake/Cape Blanco/Florence area) bring a:

-Tuque -Long John -Winter socks -Warm undershirt.

Wind is very cold, and becomes extra cold when it hits with the heavy fog.

So the 7°C / 10°C morning and ...

Re: Paros, Greece in June

Was in Paros for ~10 days in end June beggining July 2014. Got unlucky with only 1 very strong day ~28-32 kts pretty stable. One more day 18-22 kts and 1 or 2 low wind. Hopefully you have better luck than I had, the locals said that it was very rare no wind like that for that many days (when I was ...

How do you make a line that cross your price numbers? (your $1450, how did you put a line across it)

Re: Aluula selling off OR ??

Wild guess:
"perceived conflict of interest" + "sold material to 16 wind sport brand" =

Maybe other brand complain about some of these things that could be seen as unfair competition:
- If and/or there is more demand that what is possible to produce, which company will take priority?
- Price of ...

Hopefully will get out of my lazy ass and stop reading into SJW stuff/cancel culture things and redo a database on El Nino/La Nina and Neutral from 2004 to 2020 instead. (Pretty sure can do this first part in 2-3hours max)

*** For Nitinaht Lake I would compare vs session logs June/July/Aug of each ...

Tempy, I was bored sometimes in 2013 and also wanted to figure out, what does it means for Van Island in regard to chance of wind if we under La Nina / El Nino, or neutral.

So double checked the history of 8 years (2004-2012) on which months were La Nina: Red , El Nino: Blue and Neutral: Black. (It ...

IMO no need to worry at all if there is already 1 or 2 kiter on the water. Especially on week end or after work week days.

Yesterday there was 2 group of women sun bathing near launch area. If there was not another kiter present I would have asked them if they stay longer, and explaining the ...

Cook St "Thieves" on the lookout

I might be wrong on this, but I think that there are homeless people looking to score value items / are on the look out at cook st.

-If you are by yourself kiting at cook st, maybe just bring 1 kite and 1 board , and do not leave your car keys in your kite bag (keys might be safer on top, just be ...

Launch at cook st on the beach instead, way safer :)
As for testing some jump/air:
With your 17m when wind is S, SSE and there is a lot of updraft go near shore slowly and bring bar in. As long as you are not going fast and load like a regular jump, you should go up, like a ladder, and go down ...
