Caddy bay
It’s been a few years but from what I remember, it wasn’t nearly as gusty as Elk Lake. It’s a sandy bottom so it’s pretty warm. It blows onshore so you’re not out too far either. Best place in Vic I found for light wind lessons.

Kids wind
Try Cadboro Bay - Gyro Park. I used to teach WS there and it was usually pretty good. Enough for learning anyway. The wind usually wraps in from the straight and blows onshore. It’s shallow and sandy too.

There's a big difference between a PFD and a life jacket. A life jacket will keep you face up if you're unconscious while a PFD is only designed for floatation.
A true life jacket is often too bulky for harness use and does restrict swimming ability. Best bet is to try it and see what works best ...

Oh Marty🙄 Don't start getting your panties in a knot again. Nitinat will continue to be just as busy as it has been for the last 30 years regardless of how popular China Creek, Port Alberni, or any other 'new' spots get. Nitinat is a magical place and that's why people will continue to go ...

Golden Helmet stays in PA!
Well, the back loop bug has hit PA. I had the pleasure of passing on the Golden Helmet to PA Mike last weekend at Nimpkish.
I sail with Mike a lot in PA and he's a solid sailor eventually nailing most things he tries. I had no idea he was working on back loops until he hucked one right in front of ...
