A couple of hours of gusty warm fun on the Surfwood 70 L and 4.2. Enjoying the challenge of learning to sail a smaller board.

W247 ripping it up for hours.......making it look easy!!

Definately the best remedy for waking up after night shift!

a bit on the kooky gusty side, but no complaints for an in-town after work session. Sort of beat after going 5 for 5 in bike to work week. Lots of km on aging legs. Nice to see Tom out ripping again.

Hairy launch, however, obscenely comfortable, even in the big gusts. I was surprised at how easy it was to trim the kite to the wind conditions. Floaty airs and some full-on adrenaline rushes. Can't wait for the 7m ONE. Overall, a very worthwhile session. Very stoked with this kite.

:D :D Gusty but lots of wind. Took one run on the 5.4 and was waaaaay OP'ed. CAme in and rigged the 4.8 flat and was good to go except for the odd 30+ gust. Waves were nice early on but the wind flattened them by the end. Great fast slalom runs at the end. HAd lots of nice jumps, jibes, and tacks. Pat and Rick joined in the fun, Alastair blasting in the lagoon, and Vic watching it all go down.

    Fun times :D :D

Caught only decent gust out to plane toward what might be a windline but feared was a tidal line....blowing gybe in zero wind, not enough to even fly sail, never mind waterstart I confirmed the latter. After several no-way mast uphauls w/ chop breaking on deck, I thought I was pulling a JL/Vood trip drifting past waving pleasureboaters to Trial. Used uphaul emerg line from harness to finally get back in 3 long slogg tacks :x Horrendous outing

Going away for a week so had to get out even if marginal. All slog, nearly planed a couple of times, teaser wind. Ogden showing 20 g 25, Trial and Gonzales both over 20, but sure wasn't on the water, didn't get any better way out. Good practice on slog gybes and clew-first exits. Good talking to Bobson and Kus (wind picked up when he left), congrats Pat and Rick for first Cook Street sessions!

Amazing day out at tofino. I've kited tofino a few other times, but this time was by far the most intense. The first 15 minutes I spent getting pretty beat up, and learning to chase down my board in the surf. After that I got the hang of jumping the incoming waves to get out the big cleaner breaks further out. A few times I was riding straight out I came face to face with some absolute monsters cresting. I'm sure my adrenaline was pumping harder than ever when carving off the bottom of some of those waves k ... (more)

Was a bit of a risk heading to the lake this weekend - the weather forecast was not promising, but Ron and Gary were in town, so we thought it would be fun, regardless of the weather. When we arrived on Friday, the wind was still blowing, and John had a sail for 30 minutes or so when we first arrived. On Saturday - the wind was super light, and was cloudy and dull. Threatened to rain all day. Regardless, John still tried to sail with his 7.5. The rest of us huddled around the fire. Ron and Gary left by late ... (more)

:D That was awesome, I was fully lit on my 12m and loving my "new" used board, worked my way upwind past the river and had fun attempting to jump. Got over powered, came in and switch with my 8m, stayed up wind from kitesurferdale so he wouldn't land on me after the huge air he was boosting. Rain got too heavy so I came back in.....lots of fun! Nice to relax in the newly rebuilt Sauna with Herman, Chris, Rob and Anna. 8)

Excellent if a bit light for the 9 (things got low end though). Steep ramps to really lay slashes into. Warm, no gloves, lots of spectators. 4 windsurfers drifted downwind - a windsurfer thought I was on a 6m and rigged too small. OR harness keeps riding up against my ribs and yanking on the boys (maybe its the fact I have no waist but it seems to be more of a waist harness than a seat harness) :D

What an annoying day. Hovered around just under for 5.8 almost all day - went out a couple of times for 10-20% planing runs. Lots 'o standing around expecting it to fill in. Got drawn out by a late "sucker gust" only to have it pretty much die all together and spend almost an hour fighting a super strong current to get back DOWNWIND to the beach. Good workout, not much fun.

We waited too long to rig up and missed the best wind of the day. Good times were had later tho. Thanks BWD, oh yeah you forgot to mention one thing - good friends, good times, good beer and nice waitress.

Late Shift - on the water just before 6 after everyone else had gone home. Gmac was still on the beach though, and then E.K. Erik came down the stairs and the wind gods smiled on us :) Just the three of us out on a late Saturday afternoon, ultra smooth wind, flat water and a good time! :D
